Following the Health and Social Care Act 2012, Local Involvement Networks were abolished and replaced with a new consumer champion for Health and Social Care. Healthwatch exists in two levels - Healthwatch England is a national organisation, and each local Healthwatch is set up to work with, and for, it's local community.
Every voice counts when it comes to shaping local health and social care services. Healthwatch Milton Keynes is independent and includes individuals and community groups working together to make this happen.
The role of Healthwatch Milton Keynes is to find out what people like and dislike about services and give them varied opportunities to get involved in improving them. They also work with those who plan and deliver local services to make sure these reflect the needs of local people.
The more people who get involved in, the stronger and more influential we become.
